Worlds Smallest Micro Spring? A Possibility

Today we see an increasing demand for the miniaturisation of products, such as PC's, mobiles and PDA's. For decades our speciality has been spring and stamping technology. We have now taken this one step further to produce what we believe is the worlds smallest spring and are incorporating this technology into our range of springs, pressings and insert mouldings.

Our ultimate aim within the Advanex group is micro spring technology, and our skill in precision stampings has allowed us to develop this process and alter our normal methods of thinking.

Previously it was thought that a micro spring of 30 µm wire diameter and a 90 µm inside diameter was the worlds smallest spring. Through our ongoing research and development we have since been able to produce a working spring with a wire diameter of 18 µm and a inside diameter of 65 µm.

 

Investigations and development work are a part of our culture. We continuously strive towards technological advancement. We are currently running trials on a new micro spring with 15 µm diameter wire. Another step towards our goal.
